This is on the FP. Since I greyed out on there for calling out the old editors, can someone from i presume is the usa explain how this benefits the rider/driver? can’t the cop get the license plate or the vin to find out who it belongs to? and if they can’t press charges because they can’r prove he was driving it, can’t they just take the bike? i am confused.

Possibly no plates, possibly stolen.

No cares for a stolen bike. As long as he gets away they won't pin it on him. He is still an asshole.

Yeah, most likely stolen. That guy doesn’t give a damn if they run the plates, it’s not coming back to him anyway. As long as he gets away without being arrested, the odds of the police being able to find him are slim.

Unless it actually is his motorcycle, in which case he’s totally boned.

What XJDano said... bikes are cheap compared to a resisting arrest charge. Even if it is owned by the guy, he might try to report that it was stolen the night before or something.

He probably bought it from a friend who had ‘totaled’ it; fixed it up, and it isn’t registered anywhere as it was totaled. The friend can claim he sold it as a ‘stunt bike’ or for parts.
